Clear wedding signs are all the rage right now, but they can come with a hefty price tag. The solution to keeping you and your wallet happy is to make one yourself.
Ever since I saw those beautiful acrylic signs on Pinterest, I could not help but fall in love with them. SO, I HAD TO MAKE ONE!
But not just any acrylic wedding sign, I wanted to create a personalized wedding sign with photos of the newlywed couple. A sign to not only be used during their wedding reception but also as a piece they could hang in their home.

How To Make A DIY Acrylic Wedding Sign
What You Will Need:
- Ling’s Moment Floral Arrangement from Amazon
- Gold Adhesive Vinyl from Amazon
- Crafting Transfer Paper from Amazon
- Floating Photo Frame from Amazon
- Wire Cutters from Amazon
- E6000 Glue from Amazon
- 2 x 5×5 Photo Prints from Walmart
- 5×5 prints are seasonal. You can also use 4×4 prints from Walmart.
- Wire Cutters from Amazon
Optional Supplies
- Screws for Wall Mount Acrylic Picture
- Cricut Maker from Amazon
- Medium Point Oil-Based Paint Pen
- Fine Point Oil-Based Paint Pen
- Metallic Chalkboard Marker
- White Chalkboard Marker
Step 1: Lay Out Floral Arrangement

Take a flower and remove as much of the stem as possible from the floral head using a wire cutter.

With equal distance from the edges, twist the greenery together to create the base.
Intertwine as much foliage as you would like.

Arrange the flower heads to your liking.

Step 2: Glue Flowers Onto The Blank Acrylic Sign

Warning: E6000 produces harmful fumes. You should wear a respirator mask, gloves, and work in a well-ventilated area or outside for your safety. Please read the entire warning label on the package before use.
In this step, you will be using the FRONT FRAME to glue on the floral arrangement.
Expect this step to take a few days to finish.
Pull back the brown liner and use E6000 glue to apply all the pieces onto the blank acrylic sign.
Pour some E6000 glue into a paper bowl and wait 2 minutes to allow the bond to become tacky.
Use a small paintbrush to apply the glue onto the greenery base.
Place the greenery base onto the FRONT FRAME.
To ensure a good bond, I place a piece of parchment paper and a heavy-weighted book on top to set overnight.

A full cure takes between 24 to 72 hours. Use your best judgement when you feel the glue has fully bonded.
Repeat this step when applying the rose heads.
Step 3: How To Make Letters for Acrylic Signs With Cricut
In this step, you will apply the vinyl adhesive letters onto the front of the BACK FRAME.
A Cricut machine is a wonderful tool to create countless projects. The price is pretty steep to use only once but is excellent to create customized letters for Cricut acrylic wedding signs.
What You Will Need:
- Cricut Machine (I have the Circuit Maker ?)
- Cricut Cutting Mat
- Vinyl Adhesive
- Transfer paper
- Cricut Basic Tool Set
- Measuring tape or ruler

Use Canva To Create A Design

First, measure the length and height of the space where you would like your letters to be. My measurements were 12 by 2.5 inches.

Next, create your design.
I use a free graphic design platform called Canva. They have a pro plan that allows you to upload fonts and provides you with unlimited access to premium tools and content for a monthly fee. Click here to read more about Canva.
The fonts I used were Playlist Script and Cardo.
For detailed instructions for working with fonts on Cricut Design Space, check out this post from Inspiration.cricut.com.
Upload Your Project To Your Cricut Design Space.

Open your Cricut Design Space and hit New Project.
Upload your design and choose the level of complexity of your design (I chose a moderately complex one.)
Click on the areas you would like to remove, in this case, anything that was white.

Choose the cut option, then save your project.
Insert your image onto the canvas.
Adjust the image size to fit your cutting mate.
Hit the Make It button.
Then, a preview of your Cricut mate will show you where exactly the letters will be cut.
Cut the appropriate amount of vinyl and place it onto your mate. Make sure the paper backing side is down.

Choose Vinyl.
Then load the mat into your Cricut machine by pressing the flashing Load/Unload button.
Once the mat is loaded, the screen will direct you to hit the blinking Cricut button.

The screen will display your cut’s progress, and once it is complete, it will prompt you to hit the Load/Unload button to release the cutting mat.
Click the Finish button on your screen to return to your project.

Now weed away the backdrop.
Place the transfer paper on top of your design.
Run the scraper to adhere the letters onto the transfer paper.

Remove the backing and apply it to the BACK FRAME of the acrylic sign.
Don’t Have A Cricut Machine? No Worries!
Print out the letters you like, then trace your design onto your sign with a paint pen or chalkboard marker. If you’re not the best tracer, there are many stencils available for purchase to give your sign that beautiful and professional look.
These option takes a bit more time to complete but is budget-friendly.
The Best Markers To Write On Acrylic
When working on acrylic projects, the best markers are oil-based paint pens. These pens write beautifully, don’t smear, and are permanent.
Here are some you’ll love.
Sharpie Oil-Based Paint Pens
Fine tip paint pens are ideal for thinner letters and more intricate designs.
Thicker paint pens create eye-catching and bolder illustrations, perfect for larger signs.
Chalkboard Markers
If you’re looking for something that isn’t permanent, I suggest using chalkboard markers. Designs quickly come off with water and a towel.
Be careful not to press too hard while writing or wiping off the design. Acrylic can scratch easily, so keep that in mind.
Here are some chalkboard markers I love using.

Still, Want Vinyl Adhesive For Your Sign?
Buy on Etsy
You can find customizable vinyl adhesive for purchase on Etsy. The price ranges from seller to seller so browse through to see which might be able to do the font or color you like.
I did this for our wedding, I personalized wine glasses with our guest’s names instead of name tags. All our guests loved their wine glasses and champagne favors!

Buy on Amazon
If you do not have a specific font, you can always buy letter vinyl adhesive on Amazon for a reasonable price.
When I’m in a time crunch, I love using these vinyl adhesives from amazon to make a personalized item.
Step 4: Complete the DIY Acrylic Wedding Sign with Photos
To personalize my DIY acrylic wedding sign further, I added two 5×5 inch photos of the couple.
What’s great about this frame is that you can also purchase nails to allow the acrylic frame to be hung on any wall.
