What Is A Hoop Bouquet?
A hoop bouquet is a non-traditional approach to your typical bouquet.
It is essentially a large ring made of either wood or metal, decorated with floral arrangments and greenery.
A delicate accessory perfect for brides, bridesmaids, and flower girls.
This piece makes it easy to hold even during summer’s intense heat with its lightweight and circular structure. Trust me. Your wedding party will thank you! lol
How Do You Carry A Hoop Bouquet?

When you think about how to carry a hoop bouquet? Instead of thinking of it as a bouquet, consider it more like a handbag.
Here are some options on how to carry your ring bouquet:
- Nestle the hoop into the crook of your arm or elbow.
- Hold it in front of your body with both hands.
- Hold the ring in front of your body with one hand.
- Hold it onto one side.
Using the hoop as a handle makes this an easy bouquet to carry.
What Are Floral Hoops Used For?
Floral hoops are not only for bouquets. They can also be a sign to greet guests to your party, a decor piece behind chairs, or as an accent to backdrops.
Many have used their floral hoops as a wreath in their home or table centerpiece even after their ceremony.

Fun Summer Hoop Wedding Bouquet Tutorial
This fun summer hoop wedding bouquet is so easy to make that even a new crafter can accomplish it.
All you need is your hoop, floral arrangement, a hot glue gun or glue dots, and some wire to create a stunning bouquet.
However, if you are like me and love to save things for decor pieces in the future, I’ll show you how to create this summer bouquet idea and still be able to reuse the hoop for later projects.
Hint…The only difference is that instead of using hot glue to hold the flowers together, you will use double-sided glue dots(more on this in the tutorial.)

Hoop Sizes? Which One Do I Use?

Before we get into the good stuff, you’re probably wondering which hoop size works best for whom?
These are my recommendations, but you can use whatever size you feel is best for you and your wedding party.
12″ Hoop | Bride and Bridesmaids |
10″ Hoop | Bride (minimalistic), Bridesmaids, and Junior Bridesmaids |
8″ Hoop | Junior Bridesmaids and Flower Girls |
6″ Hoop | Flower Girls |
In this tutorial, I used a 10″ hoop that would work best for minimalistic brides, bridesmaids, and junior bridesmaids. It’s a good size but not something that would be dramatically noticeable.
If you are still unsure about sizes, I suggest purchasing this assortment of metal hoop rings from Amazon to see which suits you, your bridesmaids, junior bridesmaids, and flower girls.
Step 1. Organize The Flowers and Greenery For Your Simple Summer Wedding Bouquet

Depending on how full you would like your bouquet to be, choose some flowers and greenery that match the theme for your wedding.
I chose what I had on hand to create this simple summer wedding bouquet. I used five stems of flowers and four branches of greenery.
How Do You Attach Flowers To A Hoop?

Now the big question would you like to use the hoop as a one-time thing, or would you like to reuse the ring for future projects?
This will determine how you attach the flowers to the hoop.
It’s A One-Time Thing
If you are not worried about damaging the hoop, I recommend using hot glue and wire to hold the floral arrangements onto the ring.
The hot glue gives a stronger bond to keep the hoop. So, you won’t have to worry about floral arrangements falling off.
I Want To Use The Hoop Again
If you would like to keep the hoop undamaged, double-sided glue dots are what I use to keep my rings from being destroyed.
Although glue dots are a good alternative, it is very delicate, and the flowers may not stay in place for very long. So, keep in mind that you may have to push the floral arrangement back onto the ring, add another glue dot or use floral wire/ zip ties to keep it in place.
Step 2. Apply Glue Dots Onto The Ring

Double-Sided Glue Option
Take one double-sided glue dot and stretch the dot to about an inch in length.
Apply the glue onto the hoop.
Be generous when applying this glue; it will hold the greenery.
If you don’t want to stress about the leaves falling off, you can wrap floral wire or clear zip ties to keep them intact.
Step 3. Add Greenery

Attach your lengthy greenery onto the hoop first.
Press firmly onto the hoop to hold it in place.
Use this as your base and build onto it.
Hot Glue Option
If you would instead use hot glue for better structure and hold, place the greenery where you would like it and carefully apply a small amount of hot glue to secure it in place.
The glue will be very HOT, so please apply with caution.

Step 4. Use Floral Wire To Attach Short Stem Greenery

To attach short stem greenery, take some floral wire and firmly wrap the base of the stem onto the ring.
Short stem greenery is perfect for creating a fuller-looking bouquet and covering up any gaps.
Even the little guys count on this one!
Step 5. Add Flowers

Next, take your long stem wired flower and wrap it around your greenery.
**Do not secure this too tightly, or you will lose the gaps needed to ensure more floral arrangements.
Hot Glue Option
Take your trimmed blossom and insert it within a gap.
Hot glue where the stem and wire meet to keep them in place.

Double-sided Glue Option
Grab a glue dot and stretch it to about an inch.
Wrap it around the stem of the blossom.
Then, take that flower and insert it within a gap between the wires.
Use as many or as few blooms as you would like for your bouquet.

AND THAT’S IT! Simple as that.
I would love to see your version of this DIY hoop wedding bouquet for your summer wedding!
